Festival Plaza Streetscape Improvements City of Tuscola, Illinois
A revitalization of the downtown area considering sustainable design and construction practices. The project emphasized creating the street as a place for business and community gatherings.		Project Highlights: Project Cost - $1 million Improved a vacant city lot into a central downtown park (Festival Corner) includes a new gazebo, landscaping, Victorian style park benches and replicated gas street lights Intersection of Sale and Main Streets was re-constructed complete with cobblestone textured concrete pavement and sidewalks A total of three city blocks had sidewalks and overhead lighting replaced with brick paver sidewalk sections, unique, theme decorative lighting, new trees and grates, new curb and gutter, and new theme street signage Work was financed with local appropriates through tax-increment financing revenues
