French Lick Town Center

HWC was commissioned to provide planning, urban design and engineering services to Springs Valley (French Lick and West Baden Springs). HWC’s Sustainable Solutions Group championed a plan that would be economically, environmentally and socially sustainable supporting the long term interests of French Lick and the Valley. Several catalyst projects resulted from initial planning efforts including the French Lick Town Center project. The entire plan emphasized pedestrian connectivity and the creation of a contextual sense of place capitalizing on the historic town and the contemporary casino.
 

Project Highlights:

  • Reuse of a 9 acre urban site providing a bridge between the recently opened Historic French Lick Resort and Blue Sky Casino and existing downtown. The Town Center infrastructure, complete in early 2008, will support a new multi-story mixed use project including over 60,000 square feet of retail with residential development. The project is activating additional investment in downtown French Lick supports the valley’s theme of “A World Class Resort Destination”.
