Project Highlights:
- Project Cost - $14.6 million
- One mile long combination of reconstruction and extension of Brown Boulevard
- Funded by a combination of local and federal funding (federal STP, TE funding)
- Incorporation of latest best management practices to address stormwater runoff into Lost Creek
- Roadway is designed to be expandable, to meet future traffic needs
- Utilization of roundabouts to route traffic through the corridor with a minimum of delays
- Attractive context sensitive design features, incorporation of artistic features and gateway elements to encourage pedestrian use of the corridor
- Utilizes abandoned railroad right-of-way for development of project
- Route provides access to three city park facilities within vicinity of project
- Phased construction scheduled to be completed by 2012
