Brown Boulevard Corridor Project
City of Terre Haute, Indiana
     
     
The project will provide an exclamation point to visitors that the City of Terre Haute is a progressive community willing to make good things happen.  

Project Highlights:

  • Project Cost - $14.6 million
  • One mile long combination of reconstruction and extension of Brown Boulevard
  • Funded by a combination of local and federal funding (federal STP, TE funding)
  • Incorporation of latest best management practices to address stormwater runoff into Lost Creek
  • Roadway is designed to be expandable, to meet future traffic needs
  • Utilization of roundabouts to route traffic through the corridor with a minimum of delays
  • Attractive context sensitive design features, incorporation of artistic features and gateway elements to encourage pedestrian use of the corridor
  • Utilizes abandoned railroad right-of-way for development of project
  • Route provides access to three city park facilities within vicinity of project
  • Phased construction scheduled to be completed by 2012
