Southeastern Avenue Corridor Sewer
City of Indianapolis, Department of Public Works

The staff at the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works was pleased with the innovative recommendations provided by HWC in the final study document. These recommendations modified old sewer layouts, allowing for the possibility of diverting flows from an adjacent area that has an overloaded interceptor. These type of changes allowed for smaller lift stations at a lower cost and reduced O&M.

Project Highlights:

  • Project Cost - Phase I: $21 million; Phase II: $15 million
  • Largest City DPW Barrett Law engineering project ever awarded
  • Serving 900 existing homes and an area of approximately 3,600 acres
  • Assisted in funding using IDEM SRF Program
