HWC Engineering Continues Work on $60M Apartment, Commercial and Parking Complex

MUNCIE — The first impression of the Village Promenade project on Muncie’s west side is one of size. And justifiably so.

The two-building complex under construction along University Avenue, straddling Dill Street, is big, with more than 300,000 square feet of apartments and commercial space in two buildings. The westernmost of the two buildings is wrapped around a five-and-a-half-level city parking garage.

If all goes well — and construction officials said they’re working overtime to make up for days lost to the worst winter weather — the $60-million project will be done this summer, in time for Valparaiso-based developer Investment Property Advisors to welcome as many as 522 Ball State University students to the building’s 226 apartments.
