Meridian Road Structure Replacement

HWC designed a single-span reinforced concrete slab bridge to replace the existing structure. The new bridge will use 100% GFRP reinforcing, combined with specific concrete admixtures instead of typical steel rebar, to target a 100-year design life with little maintenance. The roadway design included a passing blister for a neighborhood entrance. HWC also completed right-of-way acquisition and utility coordination for a dozen utility relocations. The new bridge is scheduled for construction in 2026. Utility relocations are currently being completed.
