Interstate 69 and King Street Corridor Plan

The primary gateway from Interstate 65 into Franklin was such an eyesore that local economic development officials brought prospective businesses to the city along local roads. HWC’s economic development plan recommended strategies to redevelop 420 acres at the interchange and to create a dynamic gateway experience into the community. Since these corridor improvements, the City of Franklin has attracted new restaurant, retail, and commercial investment totaling over $21 million.

County SR 32 Interchange Economic Development Plan

This eastern gateway to Crawfordsville and Montgomery County had development opportunity, but the lack of infrastructure and zoning controls was limiting interest.  HWC led planning for interchange development, which promoted key actions by the county.  First, the county initiated their first comprehensive plan and later adopted the first zoning controls for the county.  Later, infrastructure planning for the interchange was authorized.  As a result of implementing HWC’s recommendations, the county was able to attract a $138 million investment and 300 jobs at the interchange.

I-69 Interchange Economic Development Plan

HWC worked with the City of Angola to develop an economic development strategy for the 1,260 acres surrounding the Interstate 69/US 20 interchange. The plan identified key issues facing the Angola community, a vision for development around the interchange, and strategies to implement the plan. This ultimately resulted in the city partnering with a private entity to install $4 million in infrastructure along with new commercial development.
