Warren County Pool

In 2025, the Town of Williamsport engaged HWC to assist in a new design to renovate an existing public pool. The project was awarded a Land and Water Conservation Grant through IDNR to assist in funding. Project site improvements included a new zero entry pool, a new pool deck, a toddler aquatic area, a new pool slide, a splash pad, a renovated bathhouse, a new parking lot, and accessibility improvements to meet ADA standards. Construction was completed by Mattcon General Contractors.

    Washington Park

    Washington Park represents the transformation of a long-envisioned community amenity into a vibrant destination for recreation, play, and neighborhood pride. HWC first began design work on the park in 2017, developing a vision that evolved over time as new funding opportunities emerged.

    Originally conceived as a splash pad, the project expanded through the support of a Lilly Endowment grant to include a playground, shade structures, restroom facility, and trail connectivity. Located in an underserved Indianapolis neighborhood, the park provides an inviting space for children and families while fostering community pride and outdoor engagement.

    After years of planning, design, and collaboration, Washington Park officially opened in August 2025, marking a major milestone for the community. As a unique piece of Indianapolis history, the park occupies land that was once home to the original Indianapolis Zoo, adding another layer of significance to this revitalized public space.

      Williams Park Splash Pad

      HWC led the multidisciplinary team that reimagined the Williams Park Splash Pad in Brownsburg, Indiana. In collaboration with Spear Aquatics, 4021 Architecture, and ATP Engineering, the project delivered a vibrant and inclusive water play environment featuring attractions for children of all ages and abilities. Dynamic elements, including a towering dump bucket, interactive water tables, and ground sprays, create an engaging destination for family recreation and community gathering.

        Shields Park Pool

        HWC provided comprehensive project management, site design, and engineering services for the renovation of Shields Park Pool in Seymour, Indiana, helping transform the existing aquatic facility into a modern, engaging destination for the community. Working with the City of Seymour, HWC developed and led a team of professional engineers to enhance the facility’s functionality, safety, accessibility, and long-term performance while expanding recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.

        The project includes replacement of the main pool mechanical system, demolition of the existing children’s splash deck, design of a new children’s activity pool and concessions seating area, replacement of the waterslide, and development of a new mechanical building with restrooms. Through thoughtful site planning and coordinated engineering, HWC is helping create a refreshed aquatic environment that delivers an improved experience for visitors and supports the City’s vision for a vibrant community recreational amenity. The renovated Shields Park Pool is scheduled to open in the summer of 2027.

          Sapphire Bay Aquatic Park

          HWC worked alongside the City of Frankfort in developing concepts and subsequent construction plans for the replacement of the TPA Park Pool. HWC guided the City through a feasibility analysis of a new pool, construction documents, and a successful bidding process. Following a yearlong pause to the process due to the COVID pandemic, HWC helped with changes to the design and successfully led the project to construction.

          The new facility continues a tradition of aquatic amenities at TPA park, becoming the third iteration of a pool with the original bathhouse at the same location. The new facility includes a beach entry pool with a large play structure, shade covered toddler bay, lazy river with dumping buckets and a raft slide, a waterwalk, and two waterslides. In addition to renovating the historic bathhouse, a new concessions building and modern mechanical building have been added.
