The Andersons

The Andersons, Inc. developed a new approximately 51,000 SF distribution facility within the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Park in Delphi, Indiana. The facility was constructed to replace an existing nearby distribution operation while providing a modern, strategically located facility adjacent to The Andersons’ manufacturing operations. The distribution center supports the company’s cob and paper-based product lines serving laboratory, pet, and industrial markets.

HWC provided civil engineering services for the project in coordination with KJG Architecture. HWC’s site design services supported development of the industrial site, including site layout, grading and drainage, utility infrastructure, stormwater management, erosion control, and coordination with local agencies and project stakeholders. The project broke ground in April 2024 and was completed and operational in late 2024, expanding The Andersons’ presence in Carroll County and supporting continued development of the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Park.

Fire Station #2

HWC provided civil engineering and landscape architecture services for the development of Hammond Fire Station #2, a new municipal fire station serving the City of Hammond. The approximately 14,000 SF facility includes three apparatus bays, living quarters, and operational spaces designed to support the Fire Department’s day-to-day and emergency response needs.

HWC’s site design services included grading, drainage and stormwater management, utility coordination, vehicular circulation, parking, and fire apparatus access. Landscape architecture services complemented the building and site improvements with landscaping designed to enhance the appearance of the facility while maintaining appropriate visibility, access, and long-term maintainability.

The project included 60 townhomes on 6.62 acres in Carmel, Indiana. The project consisted of an acceleration/deceleration lane at the entrance of the subdivision, an emergency drive out of the subdivision, two dry detention basins, and a connection to the Monon Trail. The project also consisted of public road, public infrastructure, platting, and obtaining all necessary permits to start construction.

The project consisted of a 37,400 SF industrial building on a 25.28-acre site in Dayton, Indiana. The project included detention design discharging to an INDOT swale, storm sewer design, earthwork balance, mass grading of commercial outlots along Hine Drive, and utility infrastructure serving the proposed building.
